Edorta Arana (Arrasate, 1960) studied Journalism at the University of the Basque Country and completed his PhD on Audiovisual Communication and Advertising. He worked as a Journalist at the Basque TV station from 1982 and until 1987 and has been a Lecturer at the University of the Basque Country to the present day.

He is a member of NOR Research Team and he has been working in areas connected with the social influence of media, audience research, programming and minority languages. He has been the main researcher of project related to transmedia production and lately with consumption patterns among young students, both of audiovisual media and online services (Applika+). He has published many books and articles and has taken part in several international conferences.
