Itziar Zorita Agirre

Researcher

Itziar Zorita Agirre holds a PhD in Performing Arts from the University of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU). She has also completed a master’s degree in Digital Arts (Pompeu Fabra University) and a postgraduate degree in Cultural Management and Communication (Ramon Llul University). In the field of art and culture, She has developed her professional career in audiovisual creation, production and cultural mediation between Barcelona and the Basque Country (CCCB, Tabakalera, Azkuna Zentroa, Mobiolak Collective, Consonni, LiquidLimits Studio, Donostia 2016 European Capital of Culture). She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication of the UPV / EHU.

Her interest in research focuses on four main lines: video and experimental cinema; artistic interdisciplinarity; artistic education; and audiovisual consumption and spectator’s experience. Currently, She is part of the research group AKMEKA of the Faculty of Fine Arts (EHU / UPV) and from this context, She is developing a research project based on practice that explores the relationship between Cinema and cinemagoing’s memories.  Likewise, She has written several articles and has participated in international conferences, lately in the context of the Applika + research project, among others.
