Assistant Professor in the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising of the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.
Graduated in Advertising and Public Relations in 2011, then she completed a Master’s Degree in International Studies, both at the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea. After working in the world of communication, she obtained a scholarship to work in the Directorate for the Basque Community Abroad, within the Basque Government. From there, she got a scholarship to do her doctoral thesis at the UPV/EHU. During the years of research, she made two research stays, one at the University of Boise (Boise State Universidy, Idaho) in 2017; and the other at Harvard University in 2018. In February 2019 she defended her thesis under the name “Diasporak Nazioarteko Harremanetan: komunikazioa eta harreman transnazionalak Euskal Herriaren eta Estatu Batuetan bizi diren euskaldunen artean”. Since then she has published several research articles related to the Basque diaspora, public diplomacy and communication in journals such as “Diaspora Studies”, “Communication and Society”, “Place Branding and Public Diplomacy”, “Revista Latina de Comunicación Social”. She is a member of the Bitartez Research Group (IT1081-16) and of the university-society project “Applika Plus” (US20/21). Within this project, they study the consumption that Basque and Navarrese youth make of the media and have published several articles and book chapters on this topic.
In addition to being a lecturer and researcher at the UPV/EHU, she is a contributor to the EITB radio station Gaztea.
